I was getting ready for work one morning and decided to brave the pencil skirt with no tights look for the first time since the end of winter and it was like looking at a bright white light! I am a sun bunny in the summer and generally am a few shades darker but just as with everyone else who hasn't had a winter getaway to somewhere hot the skin has not seen a lot of vitamin D.

In my younger days, I was probably almost a tanaholic - every weekend I went out the Sugar Baby Instant tan was lathered on to give me the ever so great bronzed look but this time, that is not what I was after. I decided I wanted to try a product that gave me a gradual tan, nothing extreme - just a hint of colour that wasn't so white and is easily maintained and wasn't going to need reapplied every morning. I put the feelers out and was recommened to try Skinfoods Tanning Moisturiser.

Their website is quite simply www.skinfood.co.nz and has free shipping (woo!) and this product is only $14.99.

I was so excited to receive the parcel and when I opened the box not only was my tube of moisturiser there but also a selection of testers for their other products (sooo excited to try them!!). That night I applied the first coat and instantly I noticed that the cream didn't have that "you've got fake tan on" smell which most have even though they try to mask it. In the morning I could see just a slight difference but obviously it does take more than one application! I put another coat on the following morning, another 2 over a couple of days and as of today I am pretty happy with the results.

I'm a few shades darker than my original colour, no orange lines ( I did notice after the second coat it was a little darker on a patch on my knees but that's my fault for not exfoliating and being careful around those well known problem tanning areas!) and still no bad tanning smell.

The moisturiser is so silky and easy to apply that I have found the swap to this from my regular moisturiser an easy move to make while I am waiting for the sun to do its magic.

Of course, the added bonus' are that this is an NZ Company and of course nothing is tested on animals. You really should check out their website - it'll tell you all about the yummy ingredients they use and why!

I did take a before photo but I just cannot get an decent quailty photo of the "after" look inside so I will try this in natural light tomorrow and will post the comparison to the facebook page.

Super SUPER happy with this product, will be sure to try my samples and I can see me spending a bt more cash at Skinfood!
